Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about working with Delve Group and integrating AI into your organization.

What does Delve Group do?

Delve Group is an AI implementation practice that builds custom AI-powered software for mid-market and regional enterprise organizations. We don't sell off-the-shelf products or strategy decks - we build and deploy real systems that go into production. Our work spans healthcare, energy, telecommunications, government, nonprofit, and logistics sectors. We're headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, and deliver to clients nationwide.

How long does it take to build a custom AI solution?

Most projects go from discovery to production deployment in 8 to 16 weeks. We use AI-native development methods - including agentic coding tools - which lets our team deliver at a speed that traditional software consultancies can't match. Our fastest production deployment was 35 days from concept to live system. We start every engagement with 1-2 discovery sessions, deliver a working prototype within weeks, then iterate weekly with your team until the system is production-ready.

What industries do you serve?

We've delivered production AI systems in healthcare (including HIPAA-compliant deployments), oil and gas, disability services, nonprofit, telecommunications, and government. We work especially well with organizations that are large enough to have real problems worth solving with AI, but that have been underserved by the traditional enterprise software consulting firms. If your team is drowning in manual processes or hitting the limits of generic software, we can help.

When should I use a local AI model vs. a frontier cloud model?

It depends on your data sensitivity, performance needs, and the complexity of the task. Frontier cloud models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) offer the highest capability for complex reasoning, natural language understanding, and multi-step tasks - they are the right choice for most business applications. Local models make sense when you have strict data residency requirements, air-gapped environments, or very high-volume inference where cost per request matters more than capability. We often recommend a hybrid approach: use frontier models for the hard stuff and local models for repetitive, well-defined tasks. We evaluate this on a project-by-project basis and always recommend the approach that gives you the best results at the right cost.

Can Delve Group work with organizations outside Alaska?

Yes. We are headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, and expanding to Denver, Colorado, but we deliver to clients across the United States. Our development workflow is built for remote collaboration - we conduct weekly video iteration meetings, share working prototypes for real-time feedback, and deploy systems into your cloud environment regardless of location. Several of our current clients operate outside Alaska.

How is Delve Group different from other AI consulting firms?

We don't just advise - we build. While most consultancies sell AI strategy documents and proof-of-concept demos, we deliver production systems that organizations depend on daily. We use AI tools to build AI solutions, which means faster delivery, lower cost, and higher quality than traditional development teams. In our first year, we shipped 6 production systems with a 2-person team. Every client relationship we've had has expanded after the initial engagement - because the systems work, and they see what else is possible.
